Our Guardianship Program:
I worked as an independent breeder for 9 years before introducing the Guardianship program into my breeding practice. This initiative has helped build trust in my skills and fostered confidence in my vision. Our breeding program is designed to promote ethical breeding standards within the Australian industry.
As a guardian owner, you will be provided with a comprehensive Guardian Manual to assist you throughout this journey.
Location Requirement:
Applicants must live within a 1-2 hour drive from the Gold Coast.
Program Key Points:
Close Engagement: Families or individuals work closely with Bogan Moodles CEO, Michelle (aka Shell), to integrate a new fur baby into their home and lifestyle without large upfront costs. This collaboration helps create a seamless transition for the dog, ensuring it adapts well to its new environment. (Michelle is available to assist with training tips, support, breed specific requirements).
Breeding Arrangements: Our breeding dogs live in guardian homes where they are a part of their forever family. They return to Bogan Moodles for breeding. Mums stay with us until the puppies are weaned and nurturing is completed.
Stud dogs are sometimes required to stay with us for 3-5 days, or just a few hours.
Ethical Focus: The program is designed to encourage ethical breeding practices within the dog breeding industry. By placing our breeding dogs in loving homes, we foster strong family connections and eliminate the rehoming process and overbreeding within the industry. This ensures that our dogs are well-cared for and live happy, healthy lives one on one with their forever families while having best of both worlds- a loving family environment and a responsible breeding program.
Potential guardians must live within a 1-2 hours from the Gold Coast.
We want to make sure that every puppy finds the perfect home. That's why we have a thorough application process that includes a guardian application, reference checks, and a home visit. We are always available to answer any questions or concerns you have along the way.
Yes, there is an initial upfront cost when committing to our guardianship program, a bond is placed at the beginning of the agreement and reimbursed at its completion. Guardian families are required to cover all essential home & medical expenses for their pups as they would with any pet (e.g. adequate bedding, toys, behavioural training, food, water, love, wellness checks & care etc.). Expenses associated with breeding are covered by Bogan Moodles.
Many families and individuals use the time away from their pets for holidays, taking advantage of the respite to travel. During this period, they can stay connected with their fur babies through Facetime and receive updates. This ensures they remain involved in their pets' lives and have peace of mind knowing their pets are in the best possible care.
